Cape South makes a fantastic base for a Hawkes Bay golf getaway. There are many outstanding courses within a short drive, ranging from the internationally ranked Cape Kidnappers, through to the quirky country course at nearby Wairunga.

 

With the Cape South accommodation options, a group of four couples or singles would be perfectly accommodated in the Homestead, but using the whole property there is accommodation for up to nine couples - so gather your friends together for a great golfing experience. There are also loads of options and activities for those in the group who are non-golfers.

 

Here are some of the courses to consider:

• Cape Kidnappers - 30 minute drive, rated 27th best course in the world by Golf Magazines Top 100 2005. Perched high above Hawke's Bay on the cliffs of Cape Kidnappers.  Green fees from $180.
  
• Wairunga - 10 minute drive - The nine hole course offers a varied and challenging game over rolling terrain, through native trees and reserves. It is a country course and sheep do their part in maintaining the fairways. The season runs from November till the end of March. Green fees from $10.
• Hastings Golf Club - Bridge Pa - 30 minute drive - 18 holes, green fees from $50. This is one of New Zealand's top courses. 
• Hawke’s Bay Golf Club, Flaxmere - 30 minute drive a second 18 holes right next door to Bridge Pa. Green fees from $40.
• Napier Golf Club, Waiohiki - 30 minute drive - the oldest Golf Club in Hawke’s Bay,  this is an easy walking 18-hole championship course, which is a challenging test of golf for both the beginner and low handicapper. Green fees from $40.
• Maraenui Golf Club, Napier - 30 minute drive - 18 holes, green fees from $40. This is a top course and highly recommended.
