Hawke's Bay Horse Riding & Events
Horse Riding at Cape South
The area surrounding Cape South is perfectly suited to horse riding. Vast sandy beaches, picturesque river valleys and gently rolling countryside offer many options. Anyone who has ever ridden along the vast sandy Waimarama Beach reports that it is a never-to-be-forgotten experience, so come and see for yourself.
Cape South is a great base for horse lovers who want to get out into some fantastic riding country. We have paddocks to accommodate up to eight horses as well as plenty of parking for horse floats!
There is also a local horse-trekking company that we can direct other keen riders to.

Hawke's Bay is fast gaining a reputation for world class equine events.
We host a full and exciting calendar of race meetings at the Hawke's Bay Racing centre, including the Kelt Capital Stakes - New Zealand's richest horse race, which is run in October as part of the Hawke's Bay Spring Racing Carnival.
The Horse of the Year is a landmark event on the international equestrain circuit and attracts growing numbers of competitors and spectators every year. The 2010 show is on from 16 - 21 March at the Hawke's Bay A&P Showgrounds.
Not least, Polo has a rich and strong sporting tradition in Hawke's Bay, with the Wine Country Cup and the Dewar Cup providing fierce competition between teams from all over New Zealand during November and January respectively.
